PR Account Manager

Job description / Role

My client, a global and award-winning PR & Comms agency has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Account Executive/Account Manager with a successful track record of implementing media relations campaigns, developing content and providing great client service.

The Senior Account Executive serves as a day-to-day lead on accounts, helping to create content, pitching top-tier international, regional and national media, drafts press releases, pitches and media alerts. The Senior Account Executive possesses a deep understanding of the role that traditional media plays to relay the client’s message to the general public and works with the team to pitch stories and develop content to share those messages.

This person should be passionate about media and have a large focus on pitching media and knowing what they are looking for. They should be able to jump right in and pitch their media contacts. We are looking for a self-starter and lifelong learner who is always looking to expand their professional horizons.

Responsibilities include:
• Implementing traditional media campaigns and daily client service
• Participating in the development of media relations strategies for clients
• Partake in social media strategy discussions
• Developing content including campaign plans, presentations and proposals
• Writing materials such as pitch notes, press releases, media alerts, blog posts, op-eds, backgrounders and bios

Requirements

Required Skills
• College degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as public relations or journalism
• Three to five years of professional experience
• Experience working with clients in the finance, economic and business sectors
• Strong media contacts and proven media relations results with international, regional, national, online and trade media
• Strong writing and media relations skills and the ability to translate the client’s priorities into media opportunities
