Principal Artist - Game Studio

Job description / Role

About the role:
Our game studio is looking for a Principal Artist with out of this world talent and a healthy dose of character, environment development and storytelling experience.

Essential Job Functions:
• Work closely and collaborate with Game Team and Art Manager to create appealing characters and environments, UI graphics and marketing pop ups.
• Iterate from concept phase to final polished assets including storyboards for animations and vfx.
• Work quickly at times for unexpected deadlines and must be a team player.
• Maintain asset libraries and texture atlases with a high level of proficiency and organization
• Create ancillary graphic design work including branding/logos, typography, and marketing materials.
• Create artwork to replace older features in an existing live game
• Mentor others and give constructive feedback
• Looking for exceptional illustration skills with a strong sense of design including typography.

Salary:
AED 15,000 to 16,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Game Development or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
• 3+ years of experience producing high quality graphics on mobile apps or web
• Shipped mobile apps or game products preferably in the free to play space
• Fundamental art skills and strong aesthetic sense and color theory
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)

Bonus Points (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities).
• Animated Feature film styled concept art and strong storytelling.
• 2D animation software: spine, live2d, dragonbones ext.
• Knowledge of Cocos Creator. is a plus but not required.

Helpful Traits:
• Knowledge of asset version control tools such as SVN, GIT, Perforce or JIRA
• Experience in social game production
• Experience in SCRUM/Agile production
• Knowledge of Cocos Creator
