Process Safety Engineer

Job description / Role

Kentz, A member of the SNC-Lavalin Group are currently recruiting a Process Safety Engineer to join is operations in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
- Prepare Safety design basis and Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) Philosophies.
- Conceptual/ detailed design of Fire protection systems, Fire proofing, Fire & Gas systems, Safety equipment, Life Saving Equipment, Hazardous area classification, escape routes.
- Application of provisions in codes like API, British Standards (BS), International Protection (IP), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) for safety & loss prevention
- Dispersion/radiation/noise analysis (PHAST, Soundplan), interpretation & implementation in designs
- Network Hydraulics & dynamics calculation with software like PIPENET/PIPELINE STUDIO.
- Participate studies like Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
- Assist/Coordinate Safety studies like Consequence Analysis, Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), FRA, Safety Case, etc.
- Process Engineering Simulations using ASPEN HYSYS / UNISIM and FLARENET desirable.
- Conduct Consequence Analysis, QRA, FRA, Safety Case, etc. desirable.
- Chairing of Safety Study Work Shops desirable.

Requirements

- A degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 8 to10 years’ experience in major on shore and offshore oil & gas projects in similar position.
- Experience as a Process Safety Design Engineer in Oil & Gas consultancy or EPC environment
