Processing Assistant - Trade Finance

Job description / Role

Purpose: Process Trade Finance transaction, documents and correspondence as per established procedures and system procedures to facilitate that error free service are delivered. Job includes Swift Operation / Message creation and serves as a back-up for posting / teller work and Dispatch Assistant.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Input of data into computer swift system (message creation)
- Prepare all swift / telex / messages for the department which includes 700 MT series of L/C, remittances and other relative correspondence and present produce daft copy for checking.
- Ensure that typed messages dispose to approval queue and all messages approved / released on same day within target time.
- Correct mistakes if any by re-selecting data entry screen
- Produce / print out approved / acknowledged swift and pass on to respective offices / unit manages for authentication / endorsements.
- Photocopy and filing swift messages.
- Liaison with Swift department for any support / help.
- Ensure to have updated Banker Identification Code (BIC) directory.
- Ensure to use proper MT swift , for example Mt 202 for institution transfer
- Ensure to take back-up records on regular basis and to hold recorded tapes / cassettes in fire proof cabinets
- Retrieve any extra copies required from system / file
- End month balancing and physical checking for L/C, L/G, documents.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities that are consistent with the employee Role and assigned by the management

Requirements

- Education Level: Intermediate
- 2 - 3 years previous experience in the similar position.

Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas:
- Conversant with basic banking and trade finance terminologies

Specialist Skills Required for the Job:
- Strong key board and PC skills and swift knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Team work and co-operation
