Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: To plan, manage & execute specific Purchase Category and/or Business Unit-focussed Procurement projects as directed by the Senior Procurement Category Manager & agreed with the relevant Business Unit/s. This includes utilising various resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and internal departments in order to deliver projects according to plan, timescale & budgetary targets. The Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for defining the project plan, cost baseline & deliverables throughout the process, with direction from the Senior Procurement Category Manager.

Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Manage & deliver Procurement projects as identified by the Senior Procurement Category Manager & the Business Units
- Define project scope, targets, success criteria and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential blocks, and produce contingency plans
- Clearly & timely communication of project plans & deliverables to team members and the management team as appropriate
- Draft and submit budgeted & non-budgeted savings proposals, plus recommend subsequent budget changes & benefits capture
- Instigate, negotiate, draft and/or manage the development of supplier contracts as required
- Responsible for ensuring timely turnaround of approved PRs into PO (clarifying anything unclear specified on the PR with the Business Unit) per SLAs
- Ensure all Procurement activity & documentation is compliant with Procurement SOPs
- Develop the use of best practices and tools for execution and management of workload as appropriate

Working Relationships
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers, internal Business Units and clients, as required
- Develop and set regular meetings with the internal customers/BUs & external parties to ensure Procurement requirements are being met
- Report project & sourcing initiative progress & performance with Head of Procurement as required
- Set up & hold regular supplier performance meetings

Requirements

- Professional Diploma (e.g. MCIPS)
- At least 5 to 10 years of experience
- Excellent working knowledge of ERP/MRP functions with experience in software implementations
- Professional qualification in Procurement or suitable alternative degree from a recognized international institute (e.g. MCIPS)
- Advanced Excel Experience and or Qualification
