Procurement Consultant

Job description / Role

A multinational management consultancy are looking to hire a Procurement Consultant to manage a team of 5 Buyers covering indirect materials.

The successful candidate will strive to provide strong leadership and management to team covering a diverse range of categories.

Requirements

- Delivery against project scope of work and business plan. This requires independent delivery of requirements. Deliverables are to be quality assured and accepted by project manager prior to client quality assurance and acceptance.
- Delivery against scope changes accepted by the Project Manager of the project
- Delivery against day to day operational needs. These are random requirements which are categorized as quick to medium term deliveries. Quality assurance with Project manager is a must.

Delivering Buying team focal point / lead responsibilities:
- Receiving PRs and recommending allocation based on team workload and categories
- Allocating to respective team members via the system once proposed allocation is agreed with the project manager
- Maintaining a data base of all received PRs and time to delivery / payment
- Analyzing spend and identifying trends
- Proposing recommendations on contract formation and cost cutting based on actual spend data analysis
- Measuring customer satisfaction at all times
- Highlighting risks and issues and proposing mitigations

Delivering project administrative requirements of projects. This includes:
- Developing project charters for new / existing master plan projects
- Attending project meetings with Project manager and other project members
- Accurately capturing minutes of meetings and maintaining log / reporting till action closure
- Maintaining deliverable repository of project against project plan
- Developing presentations on deliverables as and when required
- Delivering presentations as and when required
- Signing off deliverables with clients

Analysis:
- Defining objective / hypothesis / scope of analysis and signing off with project manager
- Defining data needs and identifying sources
- Collecting data and validating quality
- Conducting analysis and identifying initial conclusions
- Presenting findings to project manager and team and packaging results in deliverable formats to client

Client management:
- Maintaining respectful relationship with client at all times regardless of client attitude
- Identifying client concerns and communicating back to project manager
