Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Participate in identification of suppliers by researching product availability.
- Create vendor list to procure goods in compliance with procurement procedure (if required).
- Issue RFQ’s (Request for Quote) to prospective vendors and review vendor responses for compliance with requirements.
- Perform pricing analysis and recommend orders that result in best value procurement.
- Review the offers for technical and commercial compliance based on the requirements issued.
- Conduct commercial negotiation
- Prepare terms, conditions and commercial schedules for the order, and obtain acceptance from the vendor.
- Locate and source with alternate suppliers in case of problems with primary suppliers.
- Keep track of the delivery date and the inspection status and work along with the storekeepers to ensure smooth deliveries of materials.
- Alert projects and /or affected personnel on any potential delays and recommend corrective measures well in advance to mitigate and schedule risks. Coordinate within the department for all PO related issues.
- Manage day-to-day interaction with vendors and monitor vendor performance after completion of the project with respect to quality, schedule, deliverables, service and performance. Communicate qualitative feedback to the vendors.
- Prepare periodic reports and maintain productivity measurement by including cycle time and quotations.
- Maintain existing supplier relationship and initiate potential new supplier relationship.

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (civil / mechanical) with a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in procurement.
- Minimum three years’ experience in UAE is required.
- Having experience in other countries in the middle east will be an added advantage
- Have experience is procuring civil / mechanical / marine materials
- Specific qualifications with regard to procurement will be an added advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen
- Should be fluent in English and Hindi.
- Having workable knowledge in Arabic and other languages from the sub-continent will be an added advantage
- Good knowledge of local and regional market and trade barriers
- Good knowledge of market trends and leading procurement methods.
- Computer literate with experience working on MS Office packages like Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Familiar with engineering codes /products
- Knowledge in product inspection requirement and inspection stages
- Should have worked in ERP (or other software) based procurement modules
