Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Product Support engineer will be responsible for responding to clients’ (mostly dealers) technical support requests, either per mail, phone or other applications. Occasionally also travels the region to support clients on site in troubleshooting and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background within the power generation industry and is self driven, eager to find technical solutions in a fast and competent manner. It is key to respond swiftly and pro-active in order to resolve customer queries with highest efficiency.

Responsibilities will include;
- The product support engineer will be required to be the technical expert representing the manufacturer in front of customers, dealers and third parties
- Responsible for coordinating solutions for customers and dealers with regards to technical assistance
- Approve/ comment on warranty, policy claims – carry out inspections if necessary
- The product support engineer will be required to respond in a timely manger any troubleshooting and diagnostics assistance to client requests and provide technical consultation, as well as follow up on recalls/ campaigns with dealers.
- Be responsible for training, coaching and guiding internal and external technicians as well as improving overall technical competences e.g. developing a training schedule for technicians, improving tooling, enhancing standards etc. at the dealer network.

Requirements

- Degree in mechanical/Industrial engineering or equivalent profound technical experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as technical support /applications engineer/after sales support within the power generation industry
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills working with large engines (diesel/Natural gas)
- The candidate must have in depth mechanical and electronics trouble shooting skills with experience of delivering technical coaching and training
- Must have excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
- The ideal candidate will be sales driven
- German language would be an advantage
