Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job objective: To support the goals of Finance department in execution of controls over recording and reporting of financial statements

Duties and responsibilities

Strategy and planning
- Assist the Finance Manager with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including: reconciliation reports, audit reports and year-end financial statements.
- Assist in the development and periodical reviews of accounting policies, systems, and processes.

Operations
- Record financial transactions according to accounting policies and procedures.
- Process documents claiming debit and/or credit financial dues, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Reconcile related debit/credit accounts.
- Assist in the statement reconciliation of supplier's accounts process.
- Assist in the issuance of all debit notes and follow up on corrective actions regarding rejected debit notes and the payment of the supplier's debit notes.
- Ensure proper documentation of all supplier-related transactions (invoices and debit and credit notes) and follow-up the collection of the outstanding debit notes.
- Reconcile the financial statements with the affiliate banks as required
- Prepare sales invoice, update of sales register and order book
- Monitor receipts and invoices from clients
- Prepare wire transfers/payment vouchers
- Record, monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts between mother company and company and Project
- Maintain fixed assets account and depreciation
- Track issuances of receipts/cash /credit invoices, deposits
- Complete accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Prepare regular reports analysing financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audit and coordinate the audit process
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and report on variances
- Prepare regular reports regarding supplier accounts settlements, accounts aging, and currency needs forecast.
- Update the financial work papers including statement of letters of credit, loans and interest
- Maintain and secure the petty cash disbursements, cash control and petty cash statement preparation

People management
- Build internal relationships with employees and staff within finance department and across the different departments in the company
- Develop external relationships with banks, vendors, auditors, etc.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
- MBA with specialisation in Accounting or equivalent is preferred
- Relevant professional Certification such as CPA is preferred
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Accounting or equivalent (preferably in a similar industry)
- Experience in financial accounting and finance activities
- Proven track record of completing all required financial and accounting reports on deadlines
- Understanding and interpretation of international accounting and reporting standards
- Proficiency in Arabic and English
