Employment: Full Time

Atkins are currently looking for a Project Accountant to report to the Senior Project Accountant for the Middle East Region. This position involves assisting Project Managers with the preparation of invoices, project financial reporting, and overall financial management. The Project Accountant will be an integral part of the ongoing finance strategy of standardising quality and working methods..

Responsibilities

- Assist Projects Managers with preparation of invoices
- Periodic project reporting using MS Excel to manipulate data from the transactional accounting system
- Receipting of cash received from clients
- Forecasting of cash receipts from projects
- Ensuring compliance with business management processes and internal audit requirements
- Ensuring all timely recording of all costs to projects including monthly project accruals
- Administration of all financial documentation relating to projects such as signed contracts, original bid data, bonds, payment milestones, and other documents required for audit
- Preparing cash-flow based on forecast billing and spend
- Periodic reporting to business sectors on enquiry spend and bid success
- Responsible for accurate reporting of work in hand
- More specialised support to major projects as and when required
- Support to sector Finance heads with project adjustments at financial month end
- Other adhoc requests as required

Technical Competencies

Essential

- Degree level or higher qualification in Finance
- Minimum of 3 years experience within a Finance environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of other Microsoft office tools
- Proven experience of interacting with internal or external clients
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment Desirable
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion and other finance specific IT systems and databases
