Job description / Role
A global PR and communications firm is looking for an Arabic speaking Project Accountant to be based in Dubai with a strong focus on projects in the KSA market. Project accounting experience in a professional services organisation is critical, ideally with exposure to the Saudi market. Please note, this role will require frequent travel between Dubai and KSA.
The Project Accountant is primarily responsible for managing the process for issuing invoices, credit notes and revised invoices for clients in KSA. This role will also have significant input into credit control and key involvement in preparation of the financial statements. Furthermore, you will be required to monitor and track the budgets, manage relationships between the organization and affiliates on projects in KSA as well as have working knowledge of dealing with Zakat and tax.
* Maintaining client project files and client invoices
* Oversee posting of all time sheets & deal with timesheet queries/issues
* Distribute client reports to Project Managers for approval
* Work with the senior management team on assessments around efficiency and profitability of KSA projects
* Organise client and intercompany billing by meeting deadlines
* Process the distribution of all clients billing as required
* Reconcile client accounts
* Responsible for setting up new project codes to the system
* Research all complex client billing requests and issues
* Chasing payment of outstanding invoices and credit control
* Key input into financial statements
* Key point of contact for KSA related clients
Requirements
* Previous project accounting experience in a professional services organisation
* Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic is essential
* Willingness to travel between Dubai and KSA
* Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines
* Ability to manage workload pro-actively and using initiative is essential
* Sound working knowledge of GCC working environment, especially KSA
* Excellent attention to detail
* Relevant professional qualification in accounting is desirable
