The role

Project Controls Manager - Major Exhibition Programme

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the programme development and delivery of the strategic business case and feasibility plans.
• Managing the resources engaged in producing the business case.
• Sequencing and scheduling of works across multiple projects in the programme.
• Establishing and maintaining the schedule baselines and ensuring project control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance.
• Working closely with the client, sub consultants and main contractors.
• Reviewing overall project status with the project management team and recommending corrective action where necessary.
• Demonstrating a clear, systematic approach in solving complex issues and communicating solutions in an effective, efficient, high level manner.
• Analysing and reporting on all scheduling, cost and change controls for this scheme in conjunction with the PMO.
• Recognising and allocating best practice across the various project teams.
• Carrying out other duties for the project as and when required.

Requirements

Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:

• Previous experience within construction industry.
• Previous PMO experience.
• In-depth project/programme controls experience, demonstrating a clear understanding of the distinction between the functions of each disciplines.
• Proven capacity for successful negotiation, consultation and stakeholder management with clients, team members and the community.
• Complete understanding of design, construction and cost programs.
• Strong knowledge of IT and planning software particularly in Primavera P6.
• Understand the framework of the structured environment in which contractors are working.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
• Ability to build effective working relationships, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally and to influence.

Qualifications

• A bachelor degree in engineering, construction, commerce or quantity surveying is required for client approval.
• Professional memberships i.e. PMP, PMI, ICE, RICS or equivalent is an advantage but is not essential.
