Our client is a well established and high respected international construction and property consultancy offering cost and project management services to clients throughout the UAE. Headquartered in the UK, the Middle East operation has gone from strength to strength over the past 7 years by delivering outstanding service to their many high profile clients in the region. A Project Manager is now required to join the busy Abu Dhabi office. This role is primarily to provide project management services ensuring successful delivery of single or multiple projects (depending on size and complexity)

Requirements

Responsible to the Regional Director, the successful individual will be responsible for:
• Preparing a Project Management Plan for each project which sets forth the project strategy and communication lines to be followed by all project stakeholders
• Engaging with various project stakeholders to fully understand the project requirements and developing a project brief that provides all team members with a clear understanding of the project requirements and key performance indicators from a time, quality and financial
• Chairing meetings with contractors and clients and preparing minutes accordingly.
• Reviewing and following-up on actions – liaising with clients, contractors and designers on a regular basis.
• Chairing value engineering and risk review workshops and preparing associated schedules for issue to the project team.
• Reviewing design packages to determine compliance with the client’s brief and raising any associated queries.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, including liaising with the Cost Management department to ensure a full and comprehensive understanding of the project is conveyed and reflected in project Tenders.
• Reviewing tender returns to determine technical compliance and raising any associated queries.
• Leading negotiations with contractors on behalf of clients to ensure construction values represent best value, when instructed to do so.
• Tracking and preparing tenant liaison documentation and contractor activity plans on projects involving work in live/occupied buildings
• Reviewing/monitoring contractor progress and commercial matters and preparing reports relating to the current project status.
• Reviewing/monitoring the quality of works on-site and raising necessary instructions for defect rectification; coordinating with design consultants where required.
• Coordinating responses to technical queries received from contractors.
• Processing Contract Instructions and other contractual procedures required of the Contract Administrator role.
• Arranging meetings and ensuring project files are well maintained, as required for the execution of Project Management services
• Providing other PM support as directed by the Regional Director and/or required by project appointments.

Applicants will be degree qualified (in Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or Engineering) and have a minimum 5 years experience (at least 1 year of which will have been gained in the GCC Region).
