Project Planner

Job description / Role

Select Group is looking for an experienced Planner to join their Project Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Dubai's largest private developers with a growing portfolio of projects.

The Planner will be responsible for planning and monitoring the Groups project development programme and reporting progress to improve efficiency, manage risk and ensure timely delivery in accordance with the agreed deliverables.

Key accountabilities include:
- Assists in the planning and scheduling of all project programmes
- Analyses project information to define scope of work and creates detailed and properly sequenced project schedules that are aligned to project requirements
- Interacts with the project team to update schedules and identifies variances from original plan
- Produces comprehensive schedules in the required format (Primavera)
- Consolidates and monitors the Group’s project programmes
- Monitors and evaluates project schedule progress and identifies developing or potential problem areas and/or risks
- Conducts analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
- Analyses critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommends actions within the current constraints to negate/mitigate delays
- Provides advice on completion and completion percentages
- Assesses claims / extension of time requests in coordination with the PM/Contracts Manager.
- Prepares "look ahead" schedules and reports
- Assists project team to develop dashboard reports to keep management informed on the status of project
- Monitors and advises on status of project and department KPIs.
- Interacts with and assists project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments
- Attends onsite / offsite project meetings as required
- Supports the project team with adhoc tasks as required to support the overall objectives of the development team

Requirements

- Degree educated in Engineering or similar field
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role including 2+ years UAE high rise residential experience, developer background preferred
- Understanding of engineering principles and contract management
- Practical experience of Project management techniques
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office and advanced working knowledge of Primavera
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Good research and analytical skills, as well as strong oral and written communication
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams
