In the Middle East Atkins as part of the SNC-Lavalin Group is one of the largest engineering design consultancies. We plan, design and enable our clients’ capital programmes in and around the built environment.

Our business is that of a technical consultancy, and we provide advice and engineering design for both public and private sector clients. The multidisciplinary nature of our skills allows us to draw on expertise from across the business to deliver complex projects across the region, drawing as necessary on more than 50,000 staff worldwide.

Based in Abu Dhabi, our Energy Sector is growing rapidly we provide services to Nuclear clients in the region. We require an outgoing, proactive Project Support Officer who can provide bid support and team administration services.

Responsibilities:

Project Support
Development of project documentation including quality and execution plans adhering to Atkins standard processes (training and mentoring on Atkins processes will be provided)
Supporting the recruitment and mobilisation of staff including deployment into Atkins Middle East or client offices
Financial control and reporting including internal time and expense tracking plus raising invoices with appropriate supporting information
Developing relationships with client finance teams, to ensure we can chase outstanding payment issues
Bid support

Providing supporting the development of bid documents
Monitoring and control of tender portals sites including identifying new opportunities and tracking live tenders
Team administration

Responsible for accurately maintaining and controlling the diaries of senior directors in the Nuclear business
Arranging international travel i.e. flight bookings, hotel reservations, cars and visas where required for the project teams
Effective liaison with other team administrators within the business

Requirements

Requirements
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills to deal with people at all levels, including a professional telephone manner
Experience prioritising a varied and busy workload and with the use of own initiative at all times
Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Experience of financial monitoring and control
Excellent IT skills, particularly strong experience with Excel
A good command of English, both written and spoken.
A good command of Arabic written and spoken language (desirable, not essential)
Knowledge of standard Project Management practices and a project management qualification preferred
