Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Acts and behaves in a way that is compliant with company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environment, Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Analyzes banknote composition to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships and reactions using different measurement techniques (e.g.: chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry)
- Prepares test solutions, compounds, or reagents for the QC Operator to conduct tests.
- Induces changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, light, energy, or chemical catalysts for quantitative or qualitative analysis.
- Compiles and analyzes test information for the production method to determine process or equipment operating efficiency or to diagnose malfunctions.
- Evaluates laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with EHS standards or to make improvements as needed.
- Writes technical papers or reports and prepares standards and specifications for production processes, banknote raw materials, and tests.
- Maintains laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoots malfunctions when needed.
- Develops recommendations for improving banknote quality, production process automation and optimization, formulas, or analytical methods.

Requirements

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- 10 years of banknote printing industry experience, particularly in lab and quality control operations, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role

Skills
- Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus
- Excellent communicator
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Must have attention to detail
- Knowledgeable of banknote printing raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques
- Knowledgeable of the chemical composition, structure, and properties and uses of substances and chemical processes, as well as their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods
