Quality Assurance and Investigations - Auditor

Job description / Role

Under the supervision of the Senior Audit Manager, the Quality Assurance and Investigations - Auditor shall:
- Assist the Senior Audit Manager - Strategy, Quality Assurance and Investigations towards continuous improvement of the audit function, ensuring compliance with IPPF standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Global) and other best practice guidance issued by Big Four accountancy practices.
- Assist in developing a Quality Assurance and Improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit activity.
- Review implementation of the quality standards in all audit assignments to ensure that Internal Auditors consistently maintain the quality of audit work in line with IPPF standards.
- Conduct special assignments and investigations as requested by the Audit Committee, the Board of Directors and/or Senior Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in developing Risk Based Audit Methodology, Continuous Auditing, development of Internal Audit guidance including policies and SOPs, Internal Audit manual, etc.
- Participate in Internal Audit Activity’s initiatives in relation to implementation of CAATs, Audit Management software in concert with Senior Manager IT Audit.
- Provides inputs for developing and implementing Quality Assurance and Management procedures and systems for the department, development and maintenance of Audit Charters, Code of Ethics, Relationship Management Framework, etc.
- Ensure the internal audit activity’s conformance with the Definition of Internal auditing and the Standards, and ensure that internal auditors comply with the Code of Ethics.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of quality in Internal Audit work with periodic reviews performed (Quality reviews). Document results and observations after reviews and follow up on audit corrective action.
- Participate in the implementation of self-assessment process with other audit management staff with sufficient knowledge of internal audit practices.
- Support colleagues of the department in applying the Quality Assurance and Assessment program and methodology. Provide hands-on operational and technical assistance to departmental teams.
- Assist the Senior Audit Manager - Strategy, Quality Assurance and Investigations in developing training materials on quality assurance tools used by the organization; preparing presentations on quality implementation with other departmental staff.
- Conduct and report on special assignments/investigations as requested by Audit Committee, Board of Directors and Senior Management.
- Maintains proper records and files related to quality audit and investigations assignments in accordance with the best practice and applicable policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a business related field, preferably Finance & Accounting or Economics.
- Diploma in Banking or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
- Internationally recognized accounting / auditing qualifications like ACA, CPA, CIA.
- Additional qualification such as CFE certification is highly desirable.
- Candidates must have at least 3 - 5 years' auditing experience in the financial sector, with preferably one year in a bank.
- Experience of having participated in the implementation of a Quality assurance program, is highly desirable. Adequate exposure to the IPPF Standards of the IIA is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of current auditing practices.
- Working experience in a multi-cultural environment.

- IT skills, having competent computing abilities.
