Job description / Role
- Ensure correct interpretation of details from the initial design/concept of a garment through to the sealer sample stage and eventual successful retail
- Ensure that concept standard specifications are used and put in place for all styles relevant to the Brand
- Follow up during product development cycle and ensure suppliers adhere to our requirements
- Sign off approval by Buyer, Quality Manager and Supplier on all design alterations
- Work closely with Fabric Technologist to ensure that the best quality of fabric is used and is in line with our testing requirements
- Investigate proper usage of trims and accessories to ensure proper performance when used
- Recommend any necessary changes to ensure compliance and reduce the risk factor
- Check bulk production on receipt of stock
- Follow up on reports for good/bad sellers to ensure that there are no areas of risk that may have affected the sale of garments
- Work with Warehouse QE and ensure that delivered goods are passing required AQL standards
- Analyse monthly warehouse reports for Brand/Supplier/Quality performance and communicate accordingly
- Communicate with suppliers for reasons of failure and assure CAP in place for future orders
- Start initial negotiation for compensation with advice from Quality Manager
- Complete regular market surveys on competitor brands to ensure awareness of new developments and possible improvements to be made in fabric, trims, accessories sizing and fits
- Help impart quality aspect of the Product Knowledge/Brand Knowledge training at each training session
- Conduct regular supplier analysis in terms of development, on time delivery, understanding of instructions and quality of information
Requirements
- Basic Qualification / Education / Vocational Training Graduate degree in Fashion/Technology/ Industrial Engineering/Quality Control Degree
- 6-7 years in quality control role in an Export House or Retail company
- Knowledge of Quality control processes and policies
- Knowledge of Garment construction process
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
Candidate with sampling experience will be perfect.
