Quality Surveillance Engineer (Electrical)

Job description / Role

Our client in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit an electrical control & instrumentation (c&i) quality surveillance engineer.

The job will be to provide quality surveillance oversight of the contractor and sub-contractors on the construction site.

This will be a 1 year contract with possible extensions.

* Verify that all work performed by the contractor and sub-contractors is in accordance with the engineering design requirements, codes, standards and project contract agreements
* Perform the quality surveillance oversight of the contractor in all aspects of installation works during construction of the nuclear power plant
* Ensure that the prime contractor is following approved inspection and test plans (ITP) as required
* Prepare surveillance reports identifying inspection verified and results of the inspection
* Ensures that any deficiencies and non-conformances related to materials, workmanship and processes are followed through acceptable disposition
* Support the theme of plan-do-check-act
* Oversee the contractor quality processes and ensure that efficient practices are utilized in maintaining the quality of the work
* Ensure that the contractor meets the requirements of their quality assurance program in accordance to the Enec QA manual
* Advise the contractor regarding quality performance issues and discuss proposed corrective actions to achieve required results
* Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships
* Follow all relevant department HSE policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure HSE compliance in all aspects of work in accordance with sound management practises by applying these HSE policies and procedures to self and others to take reasonable care for the health and safety of people, or the environment, who are at the employee's place of work who may be affected by the employees acts or omissions at work

Requirements

* High school diploma with relevant work experience
* Relevant trade certificate
* Experience in quality assurance/quality control/quality surveillance in a nuclear power plant construction and or experience for large capital industrial projects
