Job description / Role
Client is a main contractor with a project portfolio including Marine & Civils, Roadworks / Highways / Utilities / Drainage / Earthworks. They are seeking to appoint a project based Quantity Surveyor, who has a strong background working on marine projects (ports and harbours)
As the Quantity Surveyor you will be required to manage all cost relating to my clients projects from initial calculations to final figures. As well as ensuring the costs of projects and minimized to enhance value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality.
You will be required to:
- Review Tenders
- Check specifications
- Read technical data, analyse and take of quantities
- Correspond with suppliers and sub contractors
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including BOQ
- Analyse subcontractor/supplier quotes and prepare comparative statements
- Attend to post tender correspondences and assist in the preparation of clarifications
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineer or Quantity Surveying
- Knowledge of contract conditions; FIDIC
- Minimum 4 years experience, working on marine projects (ports and harbours)
- Experience working on Design and Build projects in the UAE
- RICS/MRICS accreditation would be an advantage
