Our client, an international organisation operating across 100+ countries, is currently looking for a Dubai-based Regional Director Communications (Part Time) as a maternity cover. Reporting to the CEO in the Middle East, the Regional Director Communications is responsible for the communications function across Asia Pacific Middle East regions. This includes driving the Group Communications strategy to the country level and ensuring that Group reporting requirements are met. This role ensures that the communications function is correctly resourced and fit for purpose and that effective communications plans are in place at country level for specific audiences – customers, employees and government entities.

Key Performance Areas:

Communications function organisational re-design
- To lead and coordinate a structural change program in Asia Middle East in conjunction with sub-regions, building up in-country Communications capability.
- To work with in-country Communications and Human Resources teams to ensure effective employee engagement plans are in place at the country level, reflecting both Group and Regional strategy and local business needs.
- To work with the Regional Corporate Development Director to ensure that effective customer communication is taking place at a country level, reflecting both Group and Regional strategy and local business needs.
- To work with in-country Communications team country management to ensure effective Government Relations plans are in place at the country level reflecting both Group and Regional strategy and local business needs.
- Effectively handle crisis communications requirements for the Asia Middle East Regional Office in a timely manner
- Ensure that effective crisis communications plans are in place at the country level in conjuction with Group and Regional requirements
- Liaise with in-country Communications teams to ensure effective Media Relations plans are in place at the country level reflecting both Group and Regional strategy and local business needs.
- Works with in-country Communications teams to ensure an effective CSR plan is in place at the country level reflecting both Group and Regional strategy and local business needs.

Customer Engagement
- To effectively handle customer engagement requirements for the Asia Middle East Regional Office.

Government Relations

Crisis Communications

Media Relations
- Effectively handle media relations requirements for the Asia Middle East Regional office.
- Foster strong media relations – building and manage key media contacts locally and regionally.
- Handle media inquiries and requests as required.

Corporate Social Responsibility
- Handle CSR requirements for the Asia Middle East Regional office.

Brand Management
- Act as a brand custodian for the region, providing branding advice and brand check services for the Asia Middle East countries
- Enforce consistent brand identity across the region
- Increase brand awareness through brand marketing
- Drive and handle rebranding projects

Other
- Fluent written and spoken English communication skills – native level
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to stay abreast and further develop strategy and materials
- Working with professionalism, honesty and integrity maintaining confidentiality
- Ensuring accurate and timely deliverables are created
- Undertake any other projects or assignments as and when required by the Regional Sales Director or Regional CEO

Requirements

- Minimum Degree Level or equivalent and Communications or Marketing qualifications e.g. CIM
- Must demonstrate broad experience leading a Communications function in a multi-country B2B, solutions-driven environment
- Strong track record in driving change programs
- Strong understanding of different Communications focus areas
- Ability to gain support communications plans and initiatives
- Fluent in English and possess strong communication, analytical and reporting skills
- Demonstrates an understanding of products, capabilities and markets
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working for a multi-national preferably within Asia Middle East with good regional understanding
