Regional HSQE Manager

Our client is a leading provider of heavy lifting and transportation solutions to a wide variety of industry sectors worldwide, ranging from power generation to ports, from renewables to oil and gas, and from civil engineering to mining.

Actively seeking a Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) professional to join our management team working out of our Middle east office in Abu Dhabi..

Reporting to the Regional Director, the purpose of this role is to support the continued growth of our business regionally by planning strategy and executing our vision for HSQE over the next 5 years and beyond. Seeking an individual who will bring about a step change in the company’s approach, and raise the HSQE bar to a similarly innovative and pioneering level to that of our engineering and service delivery.

You will be a first class communicator with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of a culturally diverse business. Computer literate and a strong team player, you will be proactive and pragmatic and able to drive the safety culture and philosophy within the region. Working with an existing multi-site, Integrated Management System that is externally certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and is based on OHSAS 18001:2007, you will be a responsible decision maker and show drive, determination and resilience.

You will have suitable levels of qualification in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and ideally you must have chartered membership of one or more suitable professional institutions relating to HSQE. Experience in lifting and specialised heavy transportation or a related discipline is preferred but not essential. Experience in civil engineering and construction would be an advantage.

Requirements

- NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
- Diploma in Environmental Management
- Relevant qualification in Quality Management (minimum lead auditor, IRCA certificate)
- Chartered Member of IOSH - desirable
- Chartered Member of IEMA - desirable
- Chartered Member of CQI - desirable
- Degree/Masters level education in engineering, project management, health and safety, environmental, quality management or similar.

You will also possess over 7 years experience in HSQE Management and be responsible for a team of HSQE professionals. As you will cover the whole of the middle east travel will be involved so you must be prepared for this. This is a very rare, challenging and exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced HSQE professional to use their leadership skills, technical knowledge and strategic thinking in support of this vision.
