Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is looking for a Reservoir Engineering Technician to work in support of their engineering team - Field Operations Division

This is a contract staffing role under Manpower for a period of 6 months

- Data Processing and Preparing Technical Displays for Mishrif reservoir simulations for Planning & Budgeting requirements
- Interact with Reservoir Simulation Engineers, Surveillance Engineers, Geoscience Specialists, as needed for collecting and processing simulation modeling data
- Search for and Retrieve data requested by Reservoir Simulation Engineers
- Process data, and prepare displays (charts and maps) per specification provided by Studies Team staff
- Develop workflows and software routines for reduce manpower needs for performing data and analysis workload
- Create Excel macros to aid in the comparison historical surveillance data to modeled production history
- The candidate will be supporting a high-caliber team of Engineers

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
- Microsoft Office Software: Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Advanced Excel Macro programming is essential
- Visual Basic Applications (VBA) programming highly preferred
- Experience in OFM, ECLIPSE, Petrel and similar reservoir engineering / modeling softwares ( a plus)
- Analytical skills / dynamic problem solving skills are essential
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in written and spoken English
- Fluency in written or spoken Arabic (a plus)
- Proficient at moving and reformatting data between data stores and applications.
- Experienced in supporting Petroleum/Reservoir Engineers, particularly on reservoir modeling tasks
- Oil & gas background essential
- Multi-cultural, English speaking work environment

Systems knowledge:
- Microsoft Office Products: Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Schlumberger Softwares: OFM, Petrel, and Eclispse
