Resident Engineer - Buildings

Job description / Role

- Deputize for Project Manager.
- Coordinate with Client and Contractor.
- Liaise with local Authorities.
- Assist the PM and QS team on contractual and construction matters.
- Coordinate forward planning.
- Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
- Convene and chair regular site meetings.
- Coordinate and monitor activities of his team.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Assist the PM for issuing site instructions after due consultation with the Client.
- Give final approval to Works and arrange Handover.
- Supervise Contractor’s works to achieve construction in accordance with the Contract Documents.
- Review Contractor’s Submissions.
- Provide all necessary on-site direction after due consultation with the PM.
- Supervise site inspection staff.
- Assist in reviewing the process of Variations and Claims
- Check the measurement of completed works.
- Observe site safety practices.
- Advise on contractor’s resource allocation.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings.
- Must comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.

Requirements

- 10 years experience in construction supervision of residential building works
- Degree in Engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven leadership capability
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as working knowledge of industry practices
- Middle East work experience
