Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Resident Engineer will be in charge of the day-to-day activities of the construction supervision. He will lead the construction supervision team to ensure that the project will be delivered on time and within budget according to the contract. He will supervise the work of the site engineers, surveyors, inspectors and all other disciplines working on the construction site supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

- Direct the site supervision related to all aspect of site construction supervision works.
- Coordinate his direct activities and report back to PM as applicable.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and experience in all construction activities to enable him and his team to review all shop drawings, method statements and to answer all requests of information and to take decision on variations and changes if required.
- Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers, design reviewers and the contractor’s designers to resolve all design issues and required site changes and modifications.
- Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary / diaries and reports by his subordinates.
- Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction supervision team working on the site construction and utilities including the AREs, the inspectors and the surveyors.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters regarding utilities diversions and installations.
- Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of construction works.
- Liaise with all parties for site safety.
- Convene and chair regular site meetings about issues related to construction works.
- Arrange issuing of additional drawings etc. as required in coordination with the contractor’s designer and Parsons designers as applicable.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
- Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions with respect to all works on the site.
- Report back as necessary to the PM as applicable.
- Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs. programmed work.
- Prepare progress reports.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings.
- Participate in contract administration.
- Maintain awareness of contracts financial status.
- Give final approval to Works and arrange Handover.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or related field and 15 years of related work experience.
- Dubai-UAE experience is preferred.

Skills/Competencies:

- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.
- In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
