Retail Analyst

Job description / Role

Our client is looking to hire a Retail Analyst to be based in Dubai, UAE.

• Lead retail analytics and insights by managing a portfolio of consumer-centric projects which elevate the use of data and its impact on business value. Analytics use cases will include:
• Insights-driven retail merchandizing: Based on transaction or loyalty data, conduct targeted data mining to help make informed decisions about pricing, promotions, and assortment management
• Insights-driven retail marketing: To make marketing investments where they really matter, help apply advanced analytics to customer lifecycle management, marketing mix modelling and loyal program expansion/adoption
• Insights-driven retail operations: help pinpoint improvement opportunities across the entire supply chain, from sourcing and purchasing to in-store availability management to Foot traffic analyses to location-based optimization
• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations
• Frame business cases, understand the underlying analytics needs, determine the correct data sources/information and display ability to consult on impactful solutions
• Explore and combine multiple data sources, including internal and external, and use digital solutions / platforms to uncover untapped areas of growth and consult on opportunities to scale through analytics
• Oversee the development of dashboarding and reporting projects to ensure business KPIs are properly monitored and tracked

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in business analytics with demonstrated history of working on consumer and transactional datasets, e-commerce, retail or marketing analytics
• Experience with statistical analysis, regression modelling and forecasting, time series analysis, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modelling, and customer/product segmentation
• Highly analytical, detail oriented
• Excellent quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
• Great presentation and visualization skills
• Project management skills, able to overlook and guide data science/engineer projects
