Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Area Retail Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of all retail stores and overseas sales people, customer service representatives and other employees. The key performance areas of this role will be sales forecasting and planning, maximising sales and profitability, recruiting, training, supervising and appraising staff, managing budgets, handling customer queries and complaints and overseeing pricing and stock control. You will spend 70% of your time being office based and 30% of the time visiting the showrooms.

Our client is a fashion retailer specialising in leather footwear and accessories, with several stores, concessions and an on line presence.

Duties of the role will include:
- Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and efficiencies
- Managing stock levels and making key decisions regarding stock control
- Analysing sales figures on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Sales forecasting
- Providing advice on customer relationship management
- Handling showroom operations within the UAE and GCC region
- Develop and maintain competition analysis, providing insight to the entire retail team regarding competitors
- Analysing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning
- Using marketing techniques to gather customer and product feedback
- Dealing with staffing issues including recruitment, appraisals, performance reviews and training and development
- Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met at all times
- Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues
- Attending and chairing meetings
- Regular visits to the showrooms, talking to colleagues and customers to identify and resolve urgent issues
- Initiating change to improve business
- Promote the organisation locally by liaising with local schools, newspapers and communities

Requirements

- Degree in Sales and Marketing or similar
- Master degree is desirable
- Excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills
- Arabic speaking, reading and writing skills are very advantageous
- Minimum 5 years Area Retail Management experience of managing 2 or more stores
- Energetic and confident
- Commercially aware
- Good team working and interpersonal skills
- Proactive
- Integrity and Trustworthy
