Retail Store Manager

Job description / Role

- To be accountable for the overall commercial performance of the store, meeting and exceeding your KPIs
- To maintain stock management and warehouse disciplines to 100% accuracy
- To ensure legal and safety compliance at all times
- To get the best out of every team member by listening, coaching, supporting and developing them
- To be fully responsible for the performance of your team, setting targets and expectations and conducting appraisals and disciplinary action as required
- To demonstrate brilliant understanding of the customer experience, and to ensure our service never dips below exceptional
- To stay up to date with our products and make sure your team have the support, tools and information they need to maintain their own knowledge
- To deliver impeccable merchandising standards to maximize customer journey

Requirements

- Have previous retail management experience necessary to run the whole store, with a track record of smashing KPIs and growing both retail turnover and profitability
- Have western work experience, plus UAE experience is also preferred
- Be western educated, with excellent written and spoken English. Native English speakers will be preferred
- Have strong people management experience and know how to carry out personal development plans, staff training sessions and performance management
- Know how to create a real buzz around sales to get your team charging through their targets
- Know all about the operational nuts and bolts that hold a store together
- Be prepared to work evening and weekend shifts are required
- Have a personal interest in animals and pet products

About the Company

Launched in 2011 by Danish husband and wife team, Charlotte Mortensen and Anders Jorgensen, Dubaipetfood started as a small operation from their villa in Al Barsha and rapidly grew to the success story that it is today.

After recognizing the demand in the market for good quality pet products and professional services as well as delivery, Charlotte and Anders decided to open a brick and mortar operation in Dubai Investment Park called The Petshop, in February 2014 to cope with the ever increasing demand.

Both online and offline shops work simultaneously and now with over 30 staff and over 13,000 customers and over 12,000 products, Dubaipetfood.com is now the largest pet shop in the UAE.
