Risk and Compliance Manager

Job description / Role

Our client a well respected government organization, showing impressive growth year on year is looking for an Arabic speaking Compliance Manager to join their team in Dubai.

The Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Compliance by developing compliance and risk management frameworks, ensuring these represent best practice in compliance and showcase the company as setting the highest standards in company registration and licensing.

Responsible for overseeing the implementation of, and adherence to, the compliance and risk management framework during the process of performing due diligence and monitoring on applications to establish new companies and changes to existing companies so as to ensure that the Rules and Regulations are upheld.

Responsible for leadership of the Compliance team overseeing the adherence to national and international laws, regulations, standards and best practice in accordance with the companies compliance frameworks. Ensures that adequate compliance checks are in place for approving new applications or applications presented by existing members (such as share transfer, share increase, change of license, new license).

Actively analyses local and international markets, staying abreast of the latest thinking in Risk Management to develop new tools and improve existing tools deployed to carry out the companies compliance effort.

Reviews the companies risk management framework and evaluates means to identify early non-compliance in order to address with members prior to serious implications.

Trains operations team on compliance principles and monitors quality of internal controls (random checks). Develops internal and external plain language guidance to maximize compliance outcomes in the company.

Responsible for identifying and preparing improvements/modifications to Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals to ensure the companies consistent compliance.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree (Law, Finance, Business Administration)
- Risk Management Certification
- 7-10 years experience in compliance management
- 5 years in a management position

Technical Knowledge
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Familiarity with UAE and international laws regarding financial and commodity trade and investment
- Previous Audit or Risk Management experience

Computer Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook

Language Ability
- Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English
