Summary

The Risk Manager, Health, is primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating Risk Management activities for Allianz Partners Health in MEA. This includes co-ordination with other Health Risk Managers to ensure compliance with Allianz Partners' Risk Management framework. The role also includes supporting and leading Allianz Partners Health topics outside MEA, as required.

Main Tasks/ Key Repsonsibilites

- Oversee and coordinate Risk Management for Allianz Partners' Health Line of Business in ME
- Support and lead Allianz Partners Health topics outside MEA, as required
- Act as Single Point of Contact for risk topics in MEA, both for regulators and Allianz Partners employees
- Closely collaborate with other Allianz Partners Health Risk Managers, who will also lead certain activities related to MEA Risk Management
- Maintain a good understanding of the MEA business (predominantly 8 countries), and closely liaise with management to have a 'finger on the pulse'
- Gain a deep understanding of the business and business environment in the various markets to ensure early identification of emerging risks and support mitigation of actual risks
- Lead key projects related to risk containment in coordination with local management and Health Risk colleagues
- Organize and lead the MEA Risk Committee, and others as required. Provide direction and challenge to the business, coordinate contributions and documentation;
- Be an integral part of the Risk Management team at Allianz Partners Health, and closely collaborate on various topics
- As part of Allianz Partners Health team, lead and participate in broader risk topics of Allianz Partners
- Lead and participate in global Risk Centres of Competence
- Ensure the implementation and management of the Allianz Risk Framework (including: polices, standards, guidelines and rules)

Activities include

- Facilitate the Risk Management process and provision of Risk Management delivery support (this includes among others, the Top Risk Assessment and Internal Control Framework);
- Coordinate, develop and maintain the risk governance arrangements, including governance and risk tolerance and appetite approach on existing and emerging risks;
- Support the development of the Risk Management culture to enable the implementation and effective operation of Risk Management and Internal Controls;
- Develop and ensure appropriate monitoring of identified key risks and progress toward implementing effective programs and controls;
- Coordinate the effective implementation and maintaining of a network of Risk and Internal Control Coordinators as well as the provision of risk training to the wider business. Promote a positive risk culture within the business;
- Ensure that the priority risks are brought to the attention of the Head of Risk, Health and that appropriate mitigation actions are initiated. Support the development of consistent reports for the relevant governance bodies;
- Ensure that all Risk Management and Internal Control reports (formal regular updates and reports) are timely and accurate, contain up to date information and are tailored to the intended audience;
- Actively participate in and promote, process improvement on all processes and tasks where you are involved.

Requirements

Required exerperience

- Work experience in MEA markets.
- At least 3 years' experience in Risk Management, Internal Control, Project Management or international support in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Candidates with Solvency II / Basel II experience, or proficiency with a Risk specialist skill an advantage.

Required education / Additional requirements

- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience.
- Ideally a Risk Management accreditation, Internal Control or Accounting qualification.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of best practices and trends in Risk Management and Internal Control.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with colleagues of all levels of seniority to ensure in-depth understanding of the business/business context, particularly in the various MEA businesses and early identification of risks.
- Strong IT user skills, very good user knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English. Arabic an advantage.
