Safety Manager Up to 19K AED for a Construction Materials Company in the UAE.

POSITION: SAFETY MANAGER
- SALARY: up to 19,000 AED all- inclusive depending on experience and qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Monitoring the day-to-day management of Health, Safety and Environmental issues
- Participating in the follow-up and close-out of corrective actions that arise from operational activities, meetings, incidents, emergency exercises, inspections or audits that take place within his area of responsibility
- Assist the Project manager in the general supervision of the HSE program
- Provide a dedicated audit and inspection program
- Monitor the implementation of the HSE program
- Execute periodical, audits and inspections on site, and address appropriate corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare audits and inspection formal reports and verify the follow up
- Guide and facilitate the investigation in case of accidents, incidents and near misses
- Collaborate closely with Employer’s Representative with regard to HSE
- Monitor regularly the HSE performance through the dedicated KPIs
- Verify the adequacy and application of the Site HSE Plan and all related procedures, to the evolution of the Project
- Update the HSE documentation during all the construction phases when deemed necessary
- Provide a site HSE Training program
- Coordinate and directly participate, while appropriate, the HSE Training activities on site
- Keep accident records, identifying the areas to which prevention must be addressed
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the Site HSE Committee (composed by all Project HSE Representatives)
- Lead and coordinate the site emergency response team and fire prevention/fighting team, organizing training and emergency drill mock activities.
- Provide the HSE section of the periodical site and Project report
- Propose recovery plan in case of deficiencies
- Perform all the remaining miscellaneous work relating to health, safety, traffic, fire, environment protection and sanitary matters

Requirements

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Open to any nationality, Arabic speaking candidate is advantageous
- Male, 40 y/o and below

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or NEBOSH International Diploma in OSH or NVQ Level 6 Qualification in Health and Safety
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a HSE Manager position in a Construction Industry
- With Internal or Lead Auditor IRCA Certification in OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 is preferred
- With OSHAD Certification
- With UAE Construction Environmental Management Plan knowledge
- Should be familiar with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard, OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management; and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- Sound understanding of UAE HSE legislative requirements
- Holds a valid UAE Driver’s License
- Broad knowledge and experience in risk assessments and audit processes
- Able to develop and implement HSE plans
- Ability to analyze incidents and apply root cause analysis techniques
- Ability to develop Emergency Response procedures/plans
- Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
