Job description / Role
- Assisting with implementing the division?s OHS plans and strategies
- Encourage the prompt reporting of hazards & risks
- Raise management and staff awareness of safety accountabilities & responsibilities
- Assist in addressing identified actions resultant from SMS and WorkCover audits at sites as required
- Liaise with relevant authorities in respect to OHS Issues
- Conduct safety induction programs
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems
- WorkCover administration
- Return to work coordination
- Compile and analysis of work injury statistics
- Keep up-to-date with developments in the OHS field including legislation, regulations, guidelines and best practice
Requirements
- Preperably bachelor degree's in Environmental Science or any related discepline.
- Should be up to date with legal and technological developments
- Have good communication and presentation skills to ensure the implementation of policy
- Have good negotiating skills, tact and diplomacy
- Posses persistent and assertive to overcome reluctance of employees to implement appropriate practice
- Have a good level of physical fitness and stamina
- Have a logical and enquiring mind when investigating accidents
- Be able to cope under pressure
- Should have professional HSE qualification from a recognized international organization (e.g. CSP, NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant computer applications
