Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose: Responsible for providing office based analytical sales support to complement the sales teams' activities, by providing information, statistics and other analyses necessary to manage the sales performance of the agency

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Customer Service Manager, Sales Team Leaders and the Commercial Manager in the sales planning process, including forecasts, market research and historical data analysis
- Assist the Customer Service Manager, Sales Team Leaders, and the Commercial Manager in the periodical budgeting process and budget reviews
- Develop short-, mid-, and long- term forecasts on sales/bookings per voyage with the support of Sales Team Leaders, the Commercial Manager and the Customer Service Manager in close collaboration with Capacity Management in the relevant Agencies, Cluster and Head Office Network Operations
- Review forecasts in comparison to actual and develop recommendations along with sales team management to maximize returns for UASC and ensure optimal sales and utilization profiles
- Submit bookings/forecasts to Cluster Capacity Management as per required timetable
- Develop analysis on different aspects of the sales organization's function, including statistical studies on claims, product and customer segments, market trends, etc.
- Provide results of analyses, available intelligence, and forecasts to all relevant functions within the Agency, and to sales teams in other Agencies/Clusters as required and in a timely manner upon approval from the relevant agency managements staff
- Source and collate internal and external market intelligence e.g. economic activity, commodity/ industry developments, export/import business won, competitors activities (services, announcements, intelligence on rate levels) and circulate internally and if appropriate to Cluster management.
- Ensure reports and documentation are error free, as per the defined processes and compliant to UASC standards, namely filing of reports in 360
- Provide tender development support to the Customer Service Manager, in collaboration with the Sales team leaders and the Commercial Manager
- Develop and track KPIs for the different sales teams in accordance with UASC standards, in coordination with the Commercial Manager, the Customer Services Manager and Customer Services and E-Commerce in HQ

Requirements

- Relevant experience and evidence of successful delivery of analytical support activities are more important than formal qualification, but minimum expectation of graduate level or equivalent remains
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Sales Analyst (or similar) position, in an international liner/logistics business preferably

Job Specific Skills:
- Highly analytical
- Extensive knowledge of local shipping environment, customers, competition in the relevant trades
- Ability to understand changing market dynamics
- Ability to apply intelligence/analyses findings to the different functions of a company
