Job description / Role
Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities:
• Achieve monthly budget goals and new business targets.
• Set up and maintain good working relationships with all hotel operations areas.
• Prospect by telephone cold-calling to establish territories.
• Establish and maintain corporate accounts with clients.
• Follow up with clients before, during, and after events/stays.
• Make reservations on behalf of clients.
• Handle complaints and escalate to Senior Sales Manager.
• Follow up on leads provided by Global Sales Offices.
• Research and present lost business reports at Monthly Sales Meetings.
• Travel throughout GCC countries and internationally when necessary.
• Provide weekly sales reports to Senior Sales Manager.
• Provide Banqueting Department with leads received through corporate clients.
• Attend various trade shows and functions as required.
• Maintain familiarity with and analyze competition from other designated hotels.
• Contribute to overall market plan for Majlis Grand Mercure Residence.
• Participate in training programs.
• React promptly to requests by Senior Sales Manager for reports and assignments.
General Responsibilities:
• Promote efficiency, confidence, and courtesy.
• Ensure good inter-departmental relations.
• Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude.
• Demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance.
• Adhere to Company and Hotel rules and regulations.
Occasional Responsibilities:
• Report equipment failures/problems to the Maintenance Department.
• Pass maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department.
• Participate in Training/Development schemes as recommended by senior management.
• Assist the Duty Manager with outlined tasks.
• Comply with reasonable requests made by management.
Legal Responsibilities:
• Ensure standards required by Law and Management are maintained.
HSE Responsibilities:
• Participate in environmental improvement programs.
• Observe Company's safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Report any unsafe conditions or environmental issues.
• Comply with all rules and regulations implemented by the Hotel Authorities to ensure safe work practices.
