Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Client is a start up organisation in the Retail Industry. They are involved in the trading of clothes and market these products globally. They are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant responsible for offering financial advice, guidance and support as well as having experience in Trade Finance and Credit Collecting.

Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure timely payment of vendor/distributor payments
- Reviews supplier invoices to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries.
- Ensure supplier statement of accounts are collected before making payments
- Ensure timely preparation of supplier reconciliations before making payments
- Timely coordination with internal & external parties to resolve disputes related to vendor payments
- Timely preparation of Bank reconciliations
- Prepare aging statement for suppliers and reconciliation with control account
- Review of employee expense claims
- Fixed assets accounting and physical stock counts
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls (Self Assessments)
- Interact with the internal and external auditors in completing audits and ensuring smooth completion of audit process

Requirements

- Degree qualification in Business/Commerce Preferably MBA/Qualified Accountant
- Excellent computer skills - including ERP knowledge and advanced MS-Excel knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good Team player
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar or related role
