Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

Our Abu Dhabi based client operates in the IT/telcos sector. Due to sustained growth in the company, the Finance Director needs additional support in the form of a Senior Accountant. This will be a hands-on role, where you would be expected to take care of all the accounting from A-Z.

Responsibilities

• Review and post journals
• Handle all invoice payments
• Process Payroll payments
• Handle VAT
• Produce the monthly management accounts
• Produce the first draft of the company’s Financial Statements in line with IFRS for review by the Finance Director
• Liaise with the external auditors
• Responsible for production of year-end audit file containing all reconciliations with appropriate back-up
• Produce / complete all supporting schedules requested by the external auditors
• Identify weaknesses in the control environment and propose improved controls
• Responsible for reviewing the weekly bank reconciliation at agreed frequency, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly
• Responsible for preparing weekly cash flow forecast
• Assisting management with creation of their annual budgets
• Review new contracts and give advice on the financial aspects

Salary:
AED 18,000 to 20,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Aged around 30-35 yrs
• Valid UAE driving license as you would be driving between 3 offices in Abu Dhabi
• Only candidates currently living in Abu Dhabi will be shortlisted
• Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Previous UAE work experience is essential – at least 2 years
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
• Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and a thorough knowledge of IFRS
• Advanced Excel
• Knowledge and experience of computerised accounting systems
• Please note : Currently only candidates holding passports from the following countries can be considered due to restrictions at security clearance stage:
India, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Egypt.
