Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

Due to the rapid growth of our business, we are looking for our next financial superstar with versatile financial experience to help support our business.

Below is a summary of the role and responsibilities:
• Liaising with commodity traders daily to ensure targets are being met
• Communicating with banks
• Providing guidance and support to junior members of the team
• Generating monthly management accounts
• Communicating with financial controller / treasury
• Preparing accounts and tax returns
• Ensuring that financial statements and records comply with laws and regulations
• Keeping account books and systems up to date
• Liaising with auditors to provide audit requirements
• Monitoring spending and budgets
• Auditing and analysing financial performance
• Financial forecasting and risk analysis
• Advising on how to reduce costs and increase profits
• Compiling and presenting financial and budget reports

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• ACCA or equivalent
• Over 10 years experience in a similar role with up to date accounting standards.

Must have experience with:
• VAT, tax regulations and computations
• Group Accounting
• Generating financial statements in multiple currencies.
• Experience working in a commodity trading environment or energy sector will be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English is a must. Bilingual candidates with knowledge of Spanish, Chinese or Arabic will be considered an asset.

Current Location:
• Candidates based in the UAE will be considered.

Notice Period:
• 30 days (preference to candidates available immediately or with short notice)
