About Ethics and Compliance

Mubadala's Ethics & Compliance division is responsible for developing and managing the Ethics & Compliance program across the Mubadala Group and to promote a culture of professionalism and integrity. The Office reports to the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors.

We are responsible for establishing a framework for educating, enabling, and empowering adherence to the Group Code of Conduct, Group Compliance Policies, and applicable laws and regulations, while seeking to prevent unlawful or unethical business conduct and administering mechanisms to hold accountable those who engage in unlawful or unethical business conduct and non-compliant practices.

The Challenge

To support the implementation of an effective ethics and compliance program that operates across Mubadala Group through research, drafting of written guidance and delivery of training, to ensure that the company complies with applicable laws, regulations policies and ethical obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Policies and Procedures

- Conduct research on changes and developments in relevant local and global laws and regulations to assist in providing inputs into the ongoing development and implementation of key compliance processes to ensure 'best practice' across Mubadala Group.
- Draft specific compliance policies and procedures to enforce relevant corporate requirements across Mubadala Group.

Analysis

- Analyse policies and procedures in the assigned corporate/business function(s) in order to identify compliance with internal policies and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct analysis on key compliance risks and emerging issues inherent to the operations of Mubadala Group in order to support risk assessments for the assigned corporate/business function(s).
- Identify and report on confirmed compliance breaches or errors within the assigned corporate/business function(s) to raise awareness of the issue and remediate it going forward.
- Conduct research into compliance breaches to further explore the issue and associated risk so that corrective action recommendations can be made.

Compliance Programs

- Participate in the implementation of a compliance project for the assigned corporate/business function(s) in line with the Group ethics and compliance program to ensure compliance risks are effectively managed.

Capability Building

- Assist in developing training programmes in order to raise knowledge and awareness of corporate governance and compliance matters, such as new policies and procedures, cases, and/or new laws, etc., across Mubadala Group.
- Support the maintenance of training requirement plans and reporting for all employees to ensure up-to-date training and development in compliance.

Communication and Engagement

- Manage the Compliance homepage on the Mubadala Group intranet ensuring regular updates are posted so that all employees are informed of compliance matters.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the communication calendar for the Compliance function in order to raise awareness and encourage a compliance-driven culture.

Compliance Support

- Liaise with corporate and business functions to provide support and guidance relating to corporate governance and compliance matters in order to support the enforcement of compliance with internal policies, as well as local and global legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide senior team members with periodic updates and guidance on compliance related matters based on collated and analysed data, in order to support the provision of sound advice to Mubadala Group.

Audit and Assurance

- Assist in working with internal and external auditors to ensure all information is provided to support timely and complete auditing and reporting across Mubadala's corporate/business functions.

Functional Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international leading practice' in order to improve business processes, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Implement all relevant functional policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Reporting

- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate functional reports to meet Mubadala's requirements, and the functional requirements, policies and standards.

Related Assignments

- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree from an internationally recognized higher education institution.

Experience:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in compliance, audit or other risk management function. Preferably, experience in a top-tier international organization or experience working in various industries.

Knowledge:

- Basic knowledge of Mubadala Group operations and business across various sectors.
- Basic knowledge of local and international legal and regulatory requirements and interest in gaining knowledge of compliance practices and techniques.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and confidently.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to quickly and accurately assimilate data and information, and ability to analyse and report the repercussions to the appropriate audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with others, and ability to demonstrate a proactive approach and initiative in delivering work.
