Job description / Role
An ISO certified shipping company with over a decade of excellence in Dubai as an end-to-end logistic service provider.
Our client is looking for an experienced and highly driven manager whose main goal is to manage the freight forwarding and logistics business of the company in the UAE ensuring delivery of revenue and profit growth. Reporting directly to the managing director, he will be looking after 40 people and will be working across several projects.
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage a large multicultural team encompassing sea operations, road operations, air operations and customer service
- Complete P&L and balance sheet responsibility for freight management and related logistics operations
- Sales and business development of the company’s presence within the region
- Performance enhancement and succession planning
- Development and enhancement of customer relationships
- Implementation of projects in accordance with customer requirements
- External interface and development of relationships with other industry bodies and governments including JAFZA, DAFZA, DPA and Customs
Requirements
- At least 8 years experience in the Freight Industry with at least 3 years in Dubai
- Bachelor's Degree in any related course
- Professional qualifications in Freight Forwarding or Logistics
- Sound understanding of operation/execution of shipments and UAE ports & customs regulations
- Knowledge of Iraq and African markets is an advantage
