Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:

• Ensure processing lines are running within quality & food safety specifications & requirements.
• Ensure the syrup is prepared as per KORE and MMI specifications and released in time as per production demand.
• Ensure WTP is operating in normal aspects.
• Provides directions, plan, organize & coordinate the required quality assurance activities needed for plant operations to ensure product and process integrity in conformance to company standards, requirements, and specifications.
• Develops and updates the plant’s Quality Assurance plan & monitoring of actual performances versus plans and management/maintenance of the Quality’s KPIs.
• Works in coordination with the plant Functional Managers to initiate, develop, maintain, and drive quality improvement & provide the required data and information needed for decision making.

Prioritized Responsibilities:

• Able to provide appropriate action and address to QA Chemist for immediate action on non- conforming quality attribute(s) as according to out of spec.
• SOPs to minimize quantity of non-conforming product.
• Ensure QA testing parameters were documented according to the company’s standards, requirements, and Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).
• Responsible for reviewing end to end manufacturing operations to ensure quality of raw materials, in process materials and finished goods through verifying inspection record and ensure results within the requirement of company’s standards.
• To specifically responsible on the daily operation of the physical, chemical, and in-process laboratory.
• Troubleshoot on any quality issue along with the team & report modification on Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) if any to QA Manager.
• Ensure quality of raw materials and finished goods as per company’s standards and release the product through SAP on timely manner.
• Responsible for monitoring product & packaging quality issue, hygiene & 5S implementation.
• Perform good laboratory practices & safety audit on QA Laboratory monthly.
• Be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other department/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
• Responsible for internal and external calibration of lab equipment.
• Responsible for final syrup yield, sugar yield and WUR as per company requirements.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reviewing all monitoring / testing activities as per KORE requirements and other tasks.
• Completing the data recoding in IQS and make regular audit on the data which is encoded to avoid mistakes in the data entry.
• Ensure the timely release of RMPM and FG after the necessary inspections.
• Consult QSE Manager before taking serious decisions when in doubt.
• Initiate appropriate corrective actions when deviations occur after finding root cause.
• Do not assume but verify physically and record legibly and promptly after each tests or verifications on the specified record forms.
• Review the QC daily report and ensure RCA and CA on serious issues which needs immediate attention.
• Review your own work and records and all other records prepared by QA Chemist and operators.
• Adhere to safety and environmental requirements.
• Adapt and comply with changing business needs and shift arrangements.
• Ensure the proper Communications to counterpart in next shift about issues in the line which is monitored. So that mistakes can be avoided.
• Important short instructions, which are not routine in nature to syrup room operators, must be communicated through visual means.
• Be a responsible citizen of the world and treat your subordinates fair and square.
• Be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including external audits to other department/areas if required, to meet the business demands.
• Ensure high standards of professional presentation and grooming.

Qualifications:

• Education - Graduate from university, or Food Science, BTech in Food Technology;
Minimum - National Diploma in Food Technology or Chemistry
• Computer literate
• Experience in leading and managing people to accomplish improved business results.
• At least 5 – 7 years’ experience in Quality related fields
• Familiar to manufacturing and warehouse operations, preferably in beverage manufacturing
• Communicates effectively in both oral and written form
• Preferably experienced and / or has expertise in Management Systems ( ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000, OHSAS 18001)
• Coaching and mentoring skills
• Ability to deal with highly complex environment
