Senior Commercial Manager

Job description / Role

The core function of the Senior Commercial Manager is to take full responsibility for the success of the commercial and financial performance of all projects within this highly successful and award-winning professional services organisation. This role therefore provides a vital link between proposals, project delivery and finance and interreacts constantly with these teams to ensure all day-to-day activities are monitored, reviewed and delivered on time with maximum efficiency and profit.

Reporting into the Senior Management Team and working exceptionally closely with the Managing Partner within the architectural organisation, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the development of commercial strategies and contractual negotiations with all clients. Therefore, you will be involved in discussions and feasibility studies at the initial stage through to project delivery, completion and handover. Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills are required in order to ensure that all parties have a clear view of their overall objectives and contractual obligations. Additionally, you will implement commercial best practices in order to mitigate risk and maximise value for the company. The successful individual will therefore drive commercial consistency across all departments and projects on an ongoing basis and constantly identify improvements to policies, procedures and processes.

Collaborating with the proposals team, you will be a highly influential individual in order to assist with contract negotiations and provide highly valuable input with regards to fee estimates, charge rates, scope gaps and commercial terms. It is therefore expected that the Senior Commercial Manager will have a high level of business acumen from within the construction and architectural industry. These essential criteria will also assist the successful candidate to implement and finalise monitoring processes for all projects within the areas of finance, resources, timelines and key milestones. Throughout the delivery of the project, you will collaborate with the Project Directors to monitor and identify any gaps, generate proposals for client variations and track and monitor CPAs (Contract Price Adjustments); again, acting as the essential link between project delivery, finance and client negotiations.

Salary:
AED 40,000 to 50,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

This is an opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to implement best practices, prepare feasibility studies, negotiate contracts and monitor the project from initial discussions through to final delivery, within a well-respected and highly successful leading architectural firm. Therefore, we require a high caliber individual with a minimum of 5 years of commercial expertise in the relevant construction industry within the UAE. Those with QS experience are highly sought after, alongside excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, the ability to be multifaced and posses a keen eye for detail with regards to minimizing risk, P&L monitoring and maximizing revenue.
