We are looking for a Senior Acoustics Consultant to join our Middle East Acoustic team (Based in UAE) who is keen to further develop a growing and successful business. The candidate should have a degree in acoustics or a related subject. Experience in acoustic design, particularly architectural, building services and environmental work and knowledge of current standards and procedures would be an advantage. Experience in architectural software like Autodesk and Sketchup. Experience with acoustic software would be an advantage (CADNA, EASE, Odeon, Sound Design, Insul). Membership of the Institute of Acoustics or a similar professional body is preferred. Site testing experience for environmental and building acoustic testings.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on major sector projects including large infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, industrial, and residential. All deliverables produced shall comply with WSP standards and procedures.
Your new role, what's involved?
* I lead the delivery of acoustic designs through all design stages.
* I lead aspects of acoustics during the construction supervision stage of a project, including the reviewing of submittals, inspection of installed works, performance testing, and resolution of challenges that arise.
* I review and prepare factual and interpretative acoustic reports including recommendations relating to the choice of materials, build-ups, building services systems and arrangements, including improvement techniques where required.
* I prepare specifications as part of the design or as part of the resolution of a challenge.
* I can provide acoustic assessments on studies and investigations into problematic scenarios.
* I manage and enable logistically challenging projects.
* I manage and maintain key client relationships.
* I engage and build new client relationships.
* I can generate prospects and can manage and deliver resulting proposals.
* I maintain links and liaise effectively with internal business units.
* I generate and maintain links and liaise effectively with our global business units where necessary.
* I mentor team members.
* I manage the financial aspects of projects covering the full life cycle from inception to cash collection.
Requirements
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* I am degree qualified within an acoustics-related field and have over 5 years of post-graduate experience.
* I hold a driver's license.
* I have excellent communication skills.
* I have local and regional experience.
* I have excellent client management skills.
* I have a talent for selling.
* I am fully familiar with regulations and codes in the Middle East Region and relevant international standards and regulations
* I am familiar with local and international sustainable codes and rating systems relevant to the acoustics field
* I have some knowledge in the following areas (as many as possible):
- Building services acoustics
- Architectural acoustics
- Room acoustics
- Environmental acoustics
- Noise and vibration measurement techniques, site assessments and surveys, and the use of modern associated equipment
- Noise and vibration calculations, consultancy, recommendations and designs
- Acoustic materials and their applications
- Acoustic designs for both macro and micro scales, this is the master plan of the project and down to the details of the rooms.
- Indoor and outdoor acoustic modelling software to propose optimal design solutions and mitigation options.
- I remain up to date with changes affecting the market and the sector and I understand how these impact my technical discipline
