Senior Consultant/ Assistant Manager - Operational & Regulatory Tax - Financial Services

Our client is a Big Four Advisory firm.

This organisation’s operational and regulatory tax team sits within the Business Tax Advisory practice and delivers on projects that navigate tax regulations and provides clients with pragmatic approaches to tax in their business. The team provides tax advice to banks, insurance companies, asset managers and governments who are tasked with implementation requirements of adopting tax regulations.

As a Senior, you will:
- Contribute to a wide range of client engagements across the region
- Participate in research relating to the impact and implementation requirements of FATCA and OECD CRS and other tax information exchange initiatives
- Work across the Firm's service lines and build internal relationships within the Firm
- Report to higher levels of management, who will expect you to anticipate and identify risks, and escalate any issues as appropriate
- With guidance from partners, directors and senior managers, identify potential business opportunities for the Firm

Client responsibilities
- Contribute to the successful delivery of client engagements and ensure a high level of client service
- Assist in the preparation of reports, workshop materials, alerts and advice
- Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
- Develop robust and enduring working relationships with client personnel

People responsibilities
- As an influential member of the team, help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop
- Build strong internal relationships within the tax team and across other service lines
- Contribute to people-related initiatives and performance feedback for staff

Requirements

- Experience in financial services and operational taxes is preferred but not essential
- Ability to solve problems pragmatically and creatively
- Professional accountancy qualification
- Excellent written oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage
