Senior Consultant - SAP Basis - Enterprise IT - Al Futtaim Group - Dubai, UAE

We are looking for a talented Senior Consultant - SAP Basis to join our Enterpise IT Team, based in Dubai.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Implementing and maintaining multiple SAP instances (ECC, BI, CRM, PI / PO, EWM (SCM), Trex, SAP BCM, Solution Manager) that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
- Maintaining the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
- Introducing technical changes into the environment proactively using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
- Designing and implementing an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
- Installing and configuring all required SAP database servers and application servers.
- Managing Housekeeping activities, Support calls and datacenter operations requirements.
- Providing training for operations and service desk team in managing the level 1 support calls.
- Distributing the SAP user workload in an instance and monitor.
- Configuring and managing the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.
- Maintaining SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies.
- Monitoring and taking corrective actions of all SAP systems using Solution manager (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.).
- Administering the SAP database DB2 on AIX (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, maintain database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.).
- Performing SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.
- Planning and implementing SAP system upgrades.
- Applying and migrating SAP maintenance (Support packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.
- Developing and maintaining system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
- Providing status reports for projects which are assigned.

Requirements

- A bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP Basis
- Should have been involved in at least three project implementation
- Work experience in SAP ECC, SAP BI, SAP PI /PO, BO, BPC, PI, CRM, SAP Solution Manager and Portal
- Good analytic and communication skills
- Knowledge in problem/change management process
- Should have strong working knowledge in DB2 and AIX.
- Should ave experience in solution design, planning and executing the following SAP Basis Projects end-to-end: SAP Version Upgrade, SAP EHP Upgrade, SAP DB Upgrade, SAP Archival
- Experience in SAP Solution Manager will be highly regarded
- Ability to provide knowledge transfer to team members, including ensuring that resources have proper understanding of the SAP System landscape and technologies
