Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a Senior Controls and Risk Specialist who will take a leading role in key strategic initiatives in the Control and Assurance section within Compliance.This will include the design and development of policies, rules, frameworks and programs and the implementation of Compliance programs in accordance with required implementation plans and milestone requirements. This role will initiate, develop and manage project teams until launch and will support the Head of Controls & Risk in undertaking special and sensitive investigations resulting in reports and recommendations to assist Director of Compliance and Executive Management in making decisions.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Compliance framework, including AML / CFT & risk based methodologies;
• Dual Regulation - In developing strategy on dual regulation of activities such as Investment activities and brokerage, consultancies, consumer protection and advisory professional services;
• Compliance programs covering DMCC Free Zone member companies, commodities’ members such as Kimberley Process, Dubai Diamond Exchange, Dubai Gold Delivery, Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange, Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation and Concordia;
• Special Investigations - Conduct investigations of specific risk matters, preparing and issuing investigation reports with recommendations & ensuring implementation and follow-up of outcome of investigations
• Advisory and Support - Advising on compliance aspects, providing recommendations & assist in training and knowledge management of Compliance team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor Honours in Finance / Business / Commerce ; Masters degree preferable
• Internationally recognized certification in Anti Money Laundering and Combating Financial Terrorism (ACAMS or ICA) or equivalent Compliance Certification
• 10+ years of experience.
• Familiarity with UAE laws, customs and practices (knowledge of multiple jurisdictions beneficial);
• AML / CFT and applicable international sanction regimes;
• FATCA, CRS and other emerging trends;
• Knowledge of international developments and their applicability;
• UAE Government structures, processes & regulatory landscape.
