The power, process & nuclear division works within four main sectors which include the following: - nuclear, defence, industry and process and power civil's. The division has long standing relationships with some of the key clients in this sector.

We are actively seeking a senior cost engineer to join our client based onsite near Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a specialist nuclear organisation.

Job Spec:
* Compare all actuals cost against approved budget for prime - contract and non - prime related works to analyze and report findings through variance analysis report on a monthly basis
* Prepare and issue monthly cost of work performed report after liaising with CPO and FNA departments to obtain, review and report accruals on actual cost of work performed
* Propose recommendations to the head of budget and cost control to ensure that suitable contractual provisions are made in all contracts that provide appropriate cost data, information and documentation
* Review and enhance cost breakdown structures for the project's scope of work
* Contribute to the cost planning and reporting formats as part of project controls requirements in the tender documents in order to set the appropriate layout
* Development of CPO annual budgets and maintain regulate updates of cost estimates to complete (ETC), including potential changes as part of the corporation annual budget for the project controls director review and submission
* Provide information to the head of budget and cost control on the costs of prime contractor and all other contractors against baselines/budgets/forecasts in order to ensure all costs are accounted for and that projects are completed according to allocated budgets
* Analyze cost variances and recommends corrective actions/possible cost savings as applicable to ensure correctness and accuracy of cost allocation to cost centers/WBS in order to fulfill cost related requirements
* Prepare the CPO staffing requirements projections for both short and long term durations in order to ensure allocated costs that will fulfill all manpower requirements of the CPO
* Provide monthly updates to head of budget and cost control for non-prime and prime contract related costs to be utilized within the EAC
* Support contractor/supplier invoices verification in order to ensure their accurate validation as required
* Oversee duties performed by budget and cost control analysts and provide assistance where required
* Follow all relevant company's HSE policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure HSE compliance in all aspect of work in accordance with sound management practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of relevant experience and must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accountancy, Finance or equivalent and certification preferably in professional project management.

Technically must have cost management and element cost analysis including life cycle implications, with knowledge and experience of use of financial control procedures, to gather cost and related data, carry-out analysis on current costs and future implications of various options and financial and accounting principles. Also have the ability to perform cost/benefit analyses with excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Post based in Abu Dhabi with travel. Please note accommodation, subsistence and travel to and from site is included - mobilisation to and from UAE is also provided as well as a tax free salary.
