Employment: Full Time

1. Job Overview:
1.1 General Description
Involved as the role of Lead electrical design engineer in the engineering design of utility-scale renewable generation sector such as solar PV, wind power, waste to energy (WtE) and microgrid (renewable, battery storage and generator hybrid) by using the business modes of DBOT, BOT, BOO and EPC.
The responsibilities include but not limited to the development of solar PV plant electrical technical concept design, electrical feasibility design and FEED for diverse power generation and transmission projects.
1.2 Key Responsibilities
1.2.1 Engineering design
• Working on utility scale renewable energy utility projects from 10 MW to 1000MW.
• Independently Hand-on design of LV/MV/HV electrical system of power generation, transmission and substations (voltage levels from 400V to 400kV for both of power plant, substation and power transmission line system as well for the projects across different countries and regions in accordance with worldwide recognized standards such as ISO/IEC/EN/BS/NEC etc.
• System study and calculations for cable voltage drop, power loss, system fault current, grounding and lightning protection etc.
• Sizing and calculating of electrical system equipment and materials, such as DC&AC cables, busbar, breakers and switchgears (AIS & GIS), MV and HV transformers, reactive power compensation devices, auxiliary system, DC & UPS system, generators, grounding and lightning protection, lighting and small power etc.
• Developing the architecture of protection, monitoring and control, communication, telecom, CCTV, fire alarm system etc.
• Design of cable management system.
• Prepare and issue study report, calculation and design report.
• Prepare of draft drawing and guide the draftsman on the preparation of issue of design drawing. Such as single line diagram, cable trunking, layout for electrical equipment, architecture for protection, monitoring and control (SCADA) and communication etc.
• Prepare and issue of BOQ
• Prepare and issue of technical specifications for electrical.
1.2.2 Cost and supply chain
• Assist in cost estimation of electrical system.
• Assist the supply chain team in the development and maintenance of supply chain in electrical, carry out technical evaluation for electrical vendors.
1.2.3 Organization and communication.
• Organize and lead the design process of electrical system for the development of power plant project, EPC bidding etc.
• Coordinating with consultant in the design process and review the design submittal from consultant for the projects they may be engaged.
• Interface with client, off-takers on the matters of electrical design.
• Have the flexibility and mindset to work on development and bidding projects, also on detailed engineering in project implementation phase.
1.2.4 Awareness and teamworking
• Able to work on the design alone or with coordination with other engineers by being team player, and team leader.
• Having engineering scenes and design-to-cost skills.
• Able to coordinate the works with solar, wind team, civil team & draughtsman.
• Research and update to latest and upcoming Standards and Norms, technologies and good practices to maintain the technical advantages.

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 30,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Candidate Profile:
1) Major in electrical engineering and automation, bachelor’s degree or above, and master’s degree is preferred and will take priority.
2) More than 10-years work experiences in the engineering design of utility-scale renewable power generation and transmission sector across at least 3 projects of international recognized construction codes and standards.
3) Familiar with the international codes and standards and good practices.
4) Computer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & AutoCAD and skilled in using electrical software, such as Etap, DIgSILENT PowerFactory etc.
5) Good verbal / written communication in English. Work in French or Spanish will be an advantage.
