Job description / Role
- Prepare accurate and timely bid estimates on project specifications ensuring adequate return on the resources employed.
- Estimate accurately each job and review the estimate with C.O.O. in sufficient time to permit careful analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary.
- Study tender specifications and project requirements and determine special conditions that may be ambiguous, present problems or result in unforeseen costs. Prepare tender proposal with necessary clarifications/queries, assumptions and deviations.
- Invite bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Obtain bid estimates at the most competitive price early enough to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintains a list of qualified vendors, especially as related to planned tenders
- Monitoring deadlines of all potential projects
- Evaluation and contract negotiation
- Corresponds with vendors in conjunction with the tender process as required, ie, non-disclosure agreements, confirmation of interest, etc
- Assists in preparation and/or review of Tender Documentation Packages comprising of Instructions to Bidders, Contract Form, General Terms Conditions, Bid Forms, etc…
- Revise quotations as required and create estimates for alternate designs and perform cost comparisons Prepares Tenders status reports and expected timelines on a regular basis and when requested.
- Liaises and coordinates activities with Financial Services In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within the company during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned.
- Update the estimating data base and collate the results of tenders for review.
Requirements
- Degree holder of Civil Engineering.
- 5 + years of relevant work experiences in Tender/Bidding Department is a must
- Experience gained in GCC countries o Middle East is a must
- Procurement Contracting Skills
- Strong knowledge of local business practices and legal processes
- Ability to envision the entire project from start to end
