Job description / Role
Due to continued growth, applications are invited by the Dubai office of Maples Fund Services for the position of Investment Fund Accountant / Senior Fund Accountant who will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely net asset valuations for a growing portfolio of hedge and private equity funds and performing certain share registrar and transfer agency functions, including processing investment and shareholder transactions and posting accounting entries. Key duties will also include involvement in client-related and internal administrative functions and liaison with investment managers, prime brokers and other transaction counterparties in various international jurisdictions.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high levels of client service in accordance with internal policies and procedures. He/she should be a qualified accountant with an excellent academic background and will have at least 3 years experience in accounting for investment products, ideally with single-manager hedge funds and private equity and real estate funds. Preference will be given to candidates with prior fund administration and Advent Geneva accounting software experience. Direct experience of processing subscriptions, redemptions, share transfers and dividend payments, processing capital calls and tracking commitments, series and equalization accounting methodologies, fee structures for both hedge funds and private equity, and anti-money laundering and relevant regulatory requirements will be beneficial.
Key skills and competencies required for this hands-on role include a clear understanding of private equity and SPV accounting, securities commonly encountered in the hedge fund industry, including equities, bonds, swaps, options and futures, and the ability to account for these securities. He/she will also be expected to demonstrate strong written communication, attention to detail, and verbal presentation skills.
