Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Participation in designing and implementation in internal audit strategies, plans, policies and Procedures. Planning, supervising and overseeing various audit activities being carried out, identifying and evaluating business risks.
- Preparing audit plans, programs and budgets. Establishing goals, performance standards and objectives for self and other subordinates. Ensuring that duties are being carried efficiently and professionally and in accordance with the Internal Audit Policies and Procedures and the International Internal Audit Standards. Performing ad hoc duties as and when requested by the Audit Manager.
- Participate in the development of the strategic audit plan for the 3 to 5 years. This will define the audit assignments to be done on yearly basis
- Participate in the review of the Strategic Audit Plan at the beginning of each year to reconfirm the risks remain the same and that there have been no changes in the systems that might affect the risk assessment.

Requirements

- University Degree, preferably with a Major in Accounting.
- Professional accounting qualification i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIA or CPA.
- 8+ years relevant experience preferably in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical or related industries or with International Audit firms.
- Good knowledge of Arabic and English.
- Experience of interacting with external auditors and government auditors.

Skills:
- Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Auditing Standards.
- In-depth knowledge of internal auditing standards and practices.
- Sound knowledge of accounting theory and philosophy; Sound working knowledge of IT systems and IT controls
